Belong to God's family

The Bible teaches that each follower of Jesus plays a part in helping God's church to grow, thrive, and flourish (Ephesians 4; 1 Corinthians 12). God has made each one of us part of His Body and we have a role to fulfill.

We grow and mature as we commit to belonging to one another in deep and meaningful relationships. Superficial relationships are not something God encourages us to have, but instead, Christ-centered relationships that help to build life, honor, healing, wholeness, and spiritual maturity in our lives that make us more like Jesus. Being part of a church family is not only the way that God designed for us to grow in life, it is the way God designed for us to thrive in life.

Women’s Book Group: The Search For Significance: Seeing Your True Worth Through God's Eyes by: Robert McGee

We are all searching for significance to ourselves, to others, to our community and to our world.  Ultimately, we know that true significance is found only in Christ. What makes this book so uniquely powerful is understanding that the journey begins in a very private place—your thoughts. “When I fail at something, I feel lousy about myself. When others do not approve of me, I can’t seem to get over it. Sometimes it feels like I’ll never measure up.”

These are the universal lies that trigger the cycle of self-doubt, robbing you of joyful living. Now, you can free yourself from these self-defeating lies. One by one, over the course of six meet ups, The Search for Significance confronts these lies, dismantles them, and points you to a higher truth that is the source of life’s meaning. It points you to Almighty God—the source of life itself.

Women’s Book Group: Friendship--It's Complicated by: Andi Andrew

Too often our friendships with other women can be marked by drama, competition, betrayal, and unforgiveness. As women, we can cause one another deep pain, creating wounds in need of healing. But we were made for connection and healthy friendships with other women to cheer each other on and fulfill our God-breathed purpose--together.

With practical and biblical applications throughout, this book will empower you to do the work by first facing yourself and untangling the mess, then seeking reconciliation for genuine connection, and building authentic friendships, even when it's been painful or complicated in the past. Join us for six meet ups as we read and openly discuss this important topic.

We will gather every week for ten weeks via Zoom for an hour to focus on learning and putting into practice these four steps of prayer: praise, silent confession, thanksgiving and intercession. Mom's Book Group: Becoming Mom Strong: How to Fight with All That's in You for Your Family and Your Faith by: Heidi St. John
(Kicking off the week of February 5th)

If you’re like many Christian moms today, you’ve been reading the headlines and watching the rapid-fire changes in our culture with frustration and fear. Let’s face it: Moms today are facing questions that previous generations didn’t even see coming, and even our right to determine what is best for our own children is under fire.

Popular speaker and blogger Heidi St. John (The Busy Mom) believes that today’s mothers need a special kind of strength. We need to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. We dare not rely on human strength for the battles we’re facing right now. Join us for six meet ups as we learn what it takes to train our children to hear God’s voice and to walk in truth no matter where our culture is heading.

TOPICAL CO-ED STUDY GROUPS

MARRIAGE GROUP: Marriage Matters: Extraordinary Change Through Ordinary Moments  by Winston T. Smith
(kicking off the week of January 29th)

Marriage Matters offers a simple, yet powerful prescription for changing marriages one ordinary moment at a time. Change begins with understanding how and why small disagreements evolve into major problems, taking practical steps to love one another more effectively, and learning how to take those same steps over and over again. Interactions that used to devolve into pointless annoyances and fights can become opportunities for God's love to become increasingly evident and powerful.

Over the course of eight meet ups, Winston T. Smith takes abstract, Christian principles and applies them to the concrete details of life so that ordinary marriages can become extraordinary using the power of the gospel and the love of Jesus.

C|20 Young Adults Bible Study: The Awe of God by John Bevere
(kicking off the week of January 29th)

Do you long for an intimate relationship with your Creator but He seems elusive? Perhaps it's because something essential is missing in your life—the fear of the Lord. Don't let this frighten you. Fearing God is very different than being afraid of God. It's the key to everything. Holy Fear is not a topic you'll hear much about these days, but if you want to build a faith that stands strong through troubled times, you cannot afford to ignore it.

There are more than forty promises in Scripture given to those who embrace holy fear—rewards such as holiness, wisdom, legacy, confidence, happiness, and security. But there is hope—in God’s capacity to bring great beauty out of tragic brokenness. This is the gospel—the lens through which you can filter your foster parenting journey and ultimately find the strength, motivation, and courage you need to be sustained along the way.

ReFraming Foster Care is a collection of reflections on the foster parenting journey designed to help you do just that—find hope—and to remind you that your work is worth it and you are not alone. Join us for six meet ups, as we walk this journey out together.
