Daniel + Jannelle Villarreal
Senior Pastors
Daniel and Jannelle have been married for 20 years. Together they have served in full time ministry for over 18 years in a wide variety of roles, including youth and young adults pastors as well as leaders of prayer teams, connect groups, men’s and women’s ministries and everything in between. In 2009 God called them to start a Church in San Antonio.
They began praying with a small group of courageous people in a living room in 2010 and haven’t looked back. The Church grew quickly, soon moving into a movie theater as a mobile Church, and into multiple rented spaces thereafter. God kept sending people—families, students, singles and couples—to be a part of the Church. After adding multiple Sunday services to make room for those coming, we are now on the journey to purchasing our own permanent building to call home.
Leadership Team
John and Hayley Shannon have been married for 15 years and have been serving in various roles of ministry together for the entirety of their marriage. They joined Grace Avenue in its infancy and are founding members of the church. Both ordained Pastors, John and Hayley love connecting people to God and to the local church. They have 3 beautiful kids who love God's house as much as they do.
Henry Garay was born and raised in San Antonio. He joined the staff at Grace Avenue as an ordained Pastor after a 13 year career in banking. Henry has served in various roles from campus pastor to outreach and men's pastor. He has been married to his beautiful wife Andrea for 12 years and they have one daughter.
Jorge & Cinder have been married for 17 years and have four beautiful children together. Jorge graduated from St Mary's University with a BS in computer engineering and is a software developer. Cinder homeschools their children and has a love for childhood education. They have served in various areas of church and are passionate about helping children find Jesus and unlock their potential and purpose in God's house.
Chris and Kayla graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Chris with his BBA in Marketing and Kayla with her BA in English and M.Ed in Educational Leadership. They met one another here at Grace Avenue and have been married for four years and have a two-year-old little boy named Jayden. Since coming to Grace Avenue they have served faithfully in many areas and currently lead our youth and young adults ministries.
